Project Live

Overview

My game’s name is currently not finalized and is instead going with the working title “Project Live”,
it is based on your classic rogue-like dungeon crawlers. You were taken in by the show-host villainess
and now are forced to partake in this show for both your life and right to escape.

Gameplay

The player is depicted via a customizable plug and play human character. The player controls with the wasd keys for core movement, jump(W), Left(A), Right(D), down/crouch(S), and using the mouse reminiscent of a twin-stick shooter to control the character’s arms. (left click = left arm) and (right click = right arm), left and right are perspective from the camera view. Not the player. And these simple controls can make a unique combination of movement and variability on attacking.

Features

Equipables/Items

Items are defined as “Equipables” these are anything that the player will be allowed to pick up in the context of the game world. This includes but not limited to, weapons, healing items, and story items. However, this is also a game of inventory management as players only have 2 active slots. Your left and right hand. Items are created with an in-game editor to allow for modding possibilities and easy development.

Score

Score is likely the most complicated part that is currently planned out and inspired the game as a whole. The idea is that at the core of things this is a show put on for the world for entertainment, “Ratings” is the culmination of your score, and in the end is what is most important to the host, but ratings by themselves depreciate at a negative rate so you must actively try to work against this depreciation by doing Cool Things. This honestly can be anything, attacking, throwing items around, killing things in the air, dying, etc. But one of the highest multipliers for your Ratings is your “Hype” which is a multiplier for anything you do, consistently doing different cool things. And having low health raises the stakes, which raises the Hype, as well does playing on higher difficulties or higher Heat.

Conclusion

This is a pretty basic writeup of what to come, but yeehaw we ball. I'll update this page as I write more things and this page will update to reflect that. have great days :) This has been marko see you soon.
